Contrary to popular belief skin desquamation is a skin that needs exfoliation. Hydrataion without exfoliation will slow down the elimination of dead skin and result in dry, rough-looking skin.

The skin is constantly renewed at a more or less rapid rate depending on the age resulting in an accumulation of dead cells on its surface. Ayurveda prescribes a gentle wash twice a day, in the morning and evening, to allow the skin to remove dead cells and allow the skin to regenerate in approximately 1 month.

To exfoliate: In your hands or in a small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of powder and mix with water to create a light paste.
Apply to clean, moist skin with your fingers
Massage gently, making small circles.
Never clean or rub your skin too hard to avoid damaging it. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
